Narrative
A coherent interpretation of the company real purpose, choices, capabilities, and direction. Not fiction — a structured explanation of reality.
Brand
How the business is identified and experienced by the market.
Positioning
The place the business wants to occupy in the customer mind. Defined by category, audience, problem, alternative, differentiation, value, and proof.
Messaging
The language used to communicate the company position and value to specific audiences.
Value Proposition
A statement of the specific value a customer receives, built around problem, consequence, desired outcome, solution, differentiation, and proof.
Brand Promise
The expectation the organization intentionally creates. Must be meaningful, specific, credible, and operationally supportable.
Brand Story
The coherent narrative arc connecting where a company came from to where it is going — beginning, tension, insight, decision, journey, present, future.
Founder Story
An explanation of why this specific person is unusually motivated to solve this specific problem.
Message Architecture
The structured hierarchy of master narrative, positioning, value proposition, pillars, proof, messages, and content.
Message House
A visual framework organizing core message, strategic pillars, supporting messages, proof, and content into a single structure.
Differentiation
What makes a business meaningfully different from alternatives — functional, technical, process, experience, business model, distribution, intellectual, or narrative.
Category
The market classification a company competes within or attempts to define.
Category Creation
The process of defining a new market category, requiring a recognizable problem, clear concept, educational content, consistent terminology, customer adoption, and evidence.
Brand Architecture
The relationship between a parent brand and its products or sub-brands — branded house, house of brands, endorsed brands, or hybrid.
Brand Voice
The dimensions of how a company communicates — confident, clear, intelligent, human, technically credible, direct, transparent.
Tone
The adaptation of brand voice for specific audiences — e.g., concise for executives, precise for engineers, helpful for customers.
Thought Leadership
Content that contributes an original idea, framework, research finding, or informed perspective. Not motivational quotes or common knowledge.
Employer Brand
The narrative that communicates why someone should work at the company — value proposition, culture, mission, work, learning, leadership, and career story.
Brand Equity
The accumulated value of brand recognition, trust, and reputation built over time through consistent communication and experience.
Customer Journey
The stages a customer moves through: Awareness, Understanding, Consideration, Evaluation, Decision, Adoption, Advocacy.
Narrative Moat
The accumulated advantage from a distinctive worldview, proprietary terminology, accumulated proof, customer stories, research, community, product experience, and consistent communication.
Proof
Evidence that supports every claim — product capabilities, documented methodology, verified case studies, customer evidence, technical demonstrations, certifications, and measurable outcomes.
Social Proof
Evidence from customers and community that validates the narrative. Must be real — never fabricated.
Technical Storytelling
Creating narratives that work at multiple depths, allowing different audiences to enter at different levels of technical detail.
